Alexandria, Va. November 24, 2009 - National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman Debbie Matz urged the Department of Treasury to support increasing or eliminating the statutory cap on credit union member business lending, and allow NCUA to establish the regulatory parameters.

The NCUA Board today unanimously approved a 2010 budget designed to strengthen supervision as troubled credit unions are projected to continue growing both in number and size.

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board today unanimously issued a proposed rule to reform the corporate credit union system by establishing a comprehensive new framework for safety and soundness. The proposed reforms are intended to enhance NCUA regulatory oversight and address deficiencies in the current rule.
