Communicating Arts Credit Union Wins Inaugural Award
Michigan Credit Union League names CACU “Outstanding Credit Union of the Year”
Aug 19, 2009 – Detroit, Mich. (allCUnews.com)— Communicating Arts Credit Union (CACU) has been honored by the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) as “Outstanding Credit Union of the Year.” The award, in its inaugural year, recognizes a credit union whose service goes far beyond the normal day-to-day financial service needs of its members to include outreach to modest means, unbanked consumers, financial education and community outreach services. The credit union’s commitment results in the improved economic well-being of individuals as well as surrounding communities.
“We are extremely humbled and honored to receive such an esteemed award,” said Hank Hubbard, President of CACU. “This award is a testament to not only CACU’s commitment to the Detroit community, but most importantly our mission in providing first-class financial resources to our members.”
CACU, a non-profit organization, was selected amongst a competitive pool of Michigan credit unions due to its innovative, out-of-the-box community-focused and financial literacy initiatives, as well as its efforts in the areas of legislative advocacy, public relations/marketing, and membership outreach.
Opening its doors in Detroit in 1935, as well as adding a full-service branch in Highland Park in 2008, CACU has established itself as a household name by committing itself to the needs of the community it serves. Serving those who live, work and worship in the City of Detroit, CACU has demonstrated that the idea of “selflessness” is alive and well.
“We want our members to take comfort in knowing that we are here for them,” said Hubbard. “At CACU, we take pride in and are compassionate about servicing their best interests. We will continue to keep helping people because, to be honest, it’s a lot of fun!”
CACU received its formal recognition on Saturday, July 11 at the Michigan Credit Union League’s Annual Meeting in Traverse City.
