Hiway Federal Credit Union Teams With Automakers to Offer Discounts
Invest in America program opens door to GM, Chrysler purchase savings, additional loan protection incentives through March 31
ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 16 (allCUnews.com) -- Hiway Federal Credit Union (Hiway) members can now purchase new vehicles at dramatic discounts.
The new Invest in America program is a credit union-focused partnership with major automakers General Motors and Chrysler. The GM offering -- the Credit Union Discount -- offers eligible current and prospective Hiway members the GM Supplier Discount on selected vehicles. The Chrysler Credit Union Member Cash program provides eligible members with up to $1,000 in bonus cash.
Now through March 31, Hiway is also offering qualified members up to $100 toward the purchase of loan protection products when they finance their new vehicle loan through Hiway. Members may use the incentive on the purchase of Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) coverage, which covers the "gap" between what is owed on a member's auto loan and what the member's insurance company will pay, or on the purchase of Extended Warranty coverage. The new program complements Hiway's already-affordable auto loan rates.
"We realize these are challenging financial times for our members, so we're constantly seeking out unique programs, such as the Invest in America vehicle initiative, that help our members make major and necessary purchases more manageable," said Hiway President and CEO Jeff Schwalen. "Reliable, affordable personal transportation is a necessity. This program opens new doors to car buying, and is certainly in keeping with our motto and promise to our members: 'With you on the road of life.'"
