Firstmark Credit Union Member Wins $5,000

Money Will Help Jumpstart Savings

Firstmark Credit Union announced the winner of the Jumpstart Your Savings contest. Rachel Balbert, a member for just over 20 years, cashed in with a $5,000 deposit to her savings account.

“I’ve been a Credit Union member since I was a child and my parents opened my first savings account,” said Rachel. “Winning was such a surprise and it couldn’t have come at a better time.”

“Most people are looking for ways to save money these days,” said Fred Hagerman, SVP/Chief Marketing Officer. “The Jumpstart Your Savings contest was a great way to reward existing members as well as those new to the Credit Union.”

Every member as of February 1, 2011, was automatically entered for one chance to win. Then, new and existing members could earn up to six, total chances to win by opening qualifying accounts during the contest period.

“I’m in the process of moving, so I’ll use some of this money to get a few things for my new place and will definitely jumpstart my savings with the rest,” said Rachel of her winnings.
