Generations Federal Credit Union Named As Top Online Financial Literacy Library
NerdWallet.com cites 71-year-old credit union for original content, student blog and links to reputable third-party websites and calculators.
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) January 09, 2012
NerdWallet.com has named Generations Federal Credit Union as having the top online Financial Literacy Library among credit unions in the United States, citing the 71-year-old credit union for its easy-to-navigate original content for adults and students, links to reputable third-party websites and an extensive selection of calculators. The credit union’s financial literacy library was launched in mid-2011 when Generations underwent a complete redesign of its website in order to better serve its membership.
“Our robust financial literacy library was designed to be an advocacy tool for our members and for the community at large,” said Christine Voigt, Generations chief operating officer. “With our busy lives, few people have the time to go to their financial institution and sit through a class. So by offering this information online, we bring those classes to them at their convenience, and we present it in formats they prefer – be they extended white papers, or quick and easy blogs, or a readily available calculator.”
As part of the website redesign, the credit union conducted extensive research to determine financial topics of interest to its membership and to the community. Through this process, Generations developed and continues to provide content that is timely and relevant, and that touches upon financial issues that students, adults and small business owners face on a daily basis.
“This website and the Financial Literacy Library has been, at its core, the embodiment of a team effort. Our Marketing Department worked very hard to make this the best site possible for our membership and for our community. So to be singled out for that hard work… it just makes me so proud of our team and the tremendous effort that they undertook and accomplished,” concluded Voigt.
