State Employees' Credit Union's Overall Member Satisfaction Rate at 98%.
RALEIGH, N.C.--(allCUnews)--July 19, 2006--State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) recently received its Spring 2006 Member Survey report with results showing an overall member satisfaction rate of 98%. The survey, administered by Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Research department, was mailed to 3,000 current SECU members and asked them to rate the credit union on ten attributes including branch and ATM locations, range of services offered, access to services, hours, service charges/fees, loan and savings rates and safety/security of savings.
In addition to the positive overall satisfaction rate, there was evidence in survey results that SECU's "Do the Right Thing" mentality is working, as 68% of members surveyed consider State Employees' Credit Union their primary financial institution (PFI). This loyalty ranking is approximately 13% higher than the 55% rating of other credit unions in a similar asset category. Within the industry, many consumers and members no longer hesitate to change primary providers if their needs aren't being met to their satisfaction. SECU's unusually high PFI figure is another indicator of exceptional service and satisfaction.
Along with survey results, CUNA Research also noted SECU's biggest supporters are generally under the age of 55. As attracting youth has been a focus since 2000, SECU recognizes its success in attracting and engaging younger adult members will prove to be one of the key components for the future. Never focusing on growth as a goal, SECU strongly believes that growth results from excellent service, regardless of the age group.
Leigh Brady, Senior Vice President of SECU's Education Services department, comments, "Serving members involves maintaining ongoing communication, and membership surveys are just one way we communicate with our member-owners, as well as gauge our effectiveness in being a trusted provider of financial services. SECU also actively communicates with its members through 'Tell Us About It' forms printed in the member newsletter, a volunteer secret shopper program, and its extensive network of 2,000 volunteers that serve on local branch Advisory Boards, SECU's Loan Review Committee, Audit Committee and Board of Directors. We are pleased with the recent results and as a credit union will always strive to 'Do the Right Thing' - the numbers show this philosophy works!"
