Visa International CEO Rodrigues leaves

Visa International said on Friday Chief Executive Christopher Rodrigues has left the organization, one month after he learned he won't run Visa when it becomes a publicly traded company.

Rodrigues, 57, joined Visa International in June 2004 from British mortgage lender Bradford & Bingley Plc (BB.L: Quote, Profile, Research), where he was also chief executive.

He plans to return to the United Kingdom to pursue interests in the travel and tourism industry, Visa International said. Rodrigues' last day was Wednesday, spokesman Simon Barker said.
